There are many volunteer roles that help spread the Neighbor Brigade mission of paying it forward. The majority of Neighbor Brigade is made up of our Chapter Volunteers, but other roles include Chapter Leader, Board Member, Fundraising, Accounting Support, Public Relations and Communications Support, or Social Media support. If our mission resonates with you, but you don’t have time for hands on volunteering, please consider a financial donation, sponsorship or simply spread the word.
Chapter volunteers are the life-blood of Neighbor Brigade. Each community-specific chapter relies on this network of individuals and families who meet the needs posted on each chapter’s monthly calendar of help requests as needs arise.
Being a Chapter Volunteer is easy, flexible and rewarding. Be as active as your schedule allows. Walk a recipient’s dog one day; come together as a family to prepare a meal for another neighbor’s needs three weeks later. As a chapter volunteer, your help makes the seemingly unmanageable more manageable. There are no minimum time requirements.
Volunteers are expected to fill out a basic application and liability release and read through our Neighbor Brigade Volunteer Handbook. This is all that is required to get started. Depending on the help that you will be providing additional qualifications may be required, for example background checks, reading our food safety training document, a valid driver’s license and home insurance.
The vast majority of our volunteer management, communications and scheduling happens using our easy to use software platform. If you are not able to use this technology, contact your local chapter leader and make alternate arrangements or receive training.
