What We Do

Neighbor Brigade provides resources for local communities to create and maintain volunteer networks. A Neighbor Brigade local chapter starts with a dedicated leader, the Chapter Leader, who builds the neighborhood volunteer network. Our website contains “how to” tools and information that streamline this process and allow leaders to support one another. Using a simple web-based system, volunteer networks efficiently organize and schedule the necessary services for their neighbors in need.

Among the support tools and resources Neighbor Brigade provides to its Chapter Leaders are:

  • Instruction for starting and maintaining local volunteer networks
  • Website for information and resource sharing
  • Helpful tips and templates
  • State-of-the-art web-based caregiving coordination service, powered by Lotsa Helping Hands, for managing volunteers and needs
  • Promotional materials

Our staff and partners communicate with the local chapters regularly and use a variety of methods, including interviews and surveys with key stakeholders, to help each chapter deliver the very best services to their community. Through an ongoing mentoring and evaluation process, our staff is able to provide regular feedback to the chapters and suggest ways to continually improve the effectiveness of their network in helping local families in crisis.
