Grants

At Neighbor Brigade we are very grateful to receive annual grants that help us fulfill our mission of establishing community-specific networks of volunteers to offer free services for residents who are facing crises to manage their daily tasks. If you know of any organizations, foundations or institutions who offer grants that may align with our mission please contact Mark Murphy, our Director of Development at mark@neighborbrigade.org.

  • Neighbor Brigade is the proud recipient of a grant from the Community Endowment of Lexington, an endowed fund of the Foundation for MetroWest.  The Lexington Neighbor Brigade will be collaborating with JPLex, a community support group, to help provide Japanese residents with the opportunity to participate in and contribute to volunteers activities with fellow Lexington residents in a meaningful and impactful way.  The grant period for this project is from June 2019 – March 2020.
  • Neighbor Brigade is the proud recipient of a grant from CHNA 15 which will allow us to print and distribute our brochure in 4 different languages (English, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese) to the towns of Acton, Bedford, Boxborough, Carlisle, Concord and Lexington. This project, which will run from April 2019 – April 2020, was funded through a grant by CHNA 15, and was made possible by Determination of Need funds received from Lahey Hospital & Medical Center and Winchester Hospital.
  • The Maynard Neighbor Brigade is the proud recipient of funds from the Maynard Community Chest which will be used to publish our outreach brochures in 4 different languages, purchase coolers to be used for meal drop-offs at our clients’ houses and to purchase food containers to be used in our collaborations with Open Table Maynard and Mt. Recipient Toolkit Sponsor – $1,000

Opportunity to positively impact our recipients. When Neighbor Brigade commits to help a new family or individual through a crisis, chapter leaders need to be prepared with supplies and tools to ensure success. Coolers are helpful to have for each family receiving meal deliveries and stationery is useful to send notes to both the families receiving services and volunteers to show appreciate for their efforts. Printed materials including brochures and other promotional items are very helpful to help spread the word about the free services Neighbor Brigade provided.
